Paul Vollmar works with individuals and couples who are committed to planning carefully for retirement. His goal is to help clients bring the many parts of their financial lives together so they can make informed decisions and retire with confidence.

Paul helps clients plan for Social Security and Medicare, build investment portfolios intended to limit downside risk, and address financial issues that may not initially seem connected to retirement planning but can significantly affect the results. These include debt, spending, insurance, wills, estate matters, and the many practical details of everyday financial life. He is known for explaining complex subjects in plain language, conducting careful research, and helping clients understand how each decision fits into a coordinated, big-picture plan.

At more than 75 years old, Paul brings a perspective shaped by both professional knowledge and personal experience. He has been investing for himself and others for more than 40 years. During that time, he has made good investments and bad ones, and he believes he has learned more from his mistakes than from his successes. That experience has given him a practical understanding of investment risk, market uncertainty, and the importance of making decisions that can be sustained through changing conditions.

Paul holds the Series 7 and Series 66 registrations and is a licensed Investment Advisor Representative. He works with clients in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Texas.

Before entering financial services, Paul spent 27 years with IBM, where he worked with clients ranging from small businesses, including an auto repair shop, to major corporations, including a large oil company. That experience made him comfortable working with people in a wide range of financial circumstances and strengthened his ability to analyze complicated problems, explain technical information clearly, and develop practical solutions.

Paul’s knowledge of Social Security and Medicare comes from extensive research for the firm’s website and blog, as well as from his own experience applying for and receiving both benefits. This combination of research, professional experience, and firsthand knowledge helps him guide clients through decisions that can often feel confusing or overwhelming.

Paul became a financial advisor because he enjoys solving complex financial problems. He finds particular satisfaction in helping clients understand their choices, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and move toward retirement with greater clarity and confidence.

Paul’s wife, Jody, is a retired registered nurse and Lutheran minister. During her career, she served as director of medical outreach services for a local hospital, helping provide care to underserved members of the community, and ministered to members of her congregation. Paul credits her example of service with influencing the way he approaches his own life and his relationships with clients.

Outside the office, Paul has pursued interests as a private pilot and an amateur sports car competitor. He has also developed a growing interest in the practical uses of artificial intelligence in both professional and personal settings. Paul and Jody share their home with a rescued Great Pyrenees, who makes sure they remain active, even on days when they might prefer otherwise.
